A community that works together can see some amazing results. Such is the case for Elements in downtown Kalona. It truly is a community effort. Elements is a drop-in activity center for teens. We call it a safe place for young people to hang out with friends. No admission charge, no qualifications for membership, No drugs, tobacco or alcohol, just a place to have lot of fun and make friends. With volunteers from all over the town, good churches, supportive city officials and good people who have a concern for our youth we've made this place an active part of our community. On August 30th, after a lot of planning and hard work, we offered a pulled pork dinner as a fund raiser to generate money for operating expenses and upgrades. The results were more than we expected.
